Assassin’s Creed Black Flag is no longer available on Steam, but not because of a planned remaster

Ubisoft explains why Assassin’s Creed Black Flag is currently unavailable on Steam

Ubisoft’s beloved pirate game, Assassin’s Creed Black Flag, is currently unavailable to purchase on Steam, with rumour mongers quickly claiming that this removal is due to the upcoming launch of a remake of the classic Assassin’s Creed title.

While the idea of an Assassin’s Creed: Black Flag remake is an attractive one, we don’t expect to see Ubisoft launching such a remake soon, especially now that Assassin’s Creed Mirage’s release is so close. With a new Assassin’s Creed game being less than a month away, we are unlikely to see a remake of Assassin’s Creed Black Flag anytime soon.

In a statement to PCGamesN, Ubisoft has confirmed that Assassin’s Creed Black Flag’s removal from sale on Steam is due to a “technical issue”, and that Ubisoft are working to make the game available again soon.

We are aware that Assassin’s Creed Black Flag is currently unavailable for purchase on Steam,

This is due to a technical issue, and our teams are working on a solution to bring it back as soon as possible.

Steam

Ubisoft has not confirmed when Assassin’s Creed Black Flag will be returning to Steam, but gamers who want to play this classic Assassin’s Creed title should be aware that the game remains available on other PC storefronts.
