Assassin’s Creed II may be free on PC this Tuesday

Several reported have claimed that Ubisoft plans to make Assassin’s Creed II’s PC version available for free next week on Uplay, allowing PC gamers to play one of the best games of the entire Assassin’s Creed franchise.

According to Daniel Ahmad on Twitter, Assassin’s Creed II will become available for free on Tuesday, April 14th, making the game free on Uplay for a limited time. In recent weeks, Ubisoft has made Child of Light and Rayman Legends available for free on PC, making this move with Assassin’s Creed II far from unprecedented. Even so, it is nice to see Ubisoft giving away such a classic title.

Assassin’s Creed II follows the early life of Ezio Auditore da Firenze, a Florentian noble whose life is turned upside down by the machinations of the Templar Order. To get his revenge, Ezio must become an Assassin, taking him on a journey across Renaissance Italy. Assassin’s Creed II’s popularity spawned two sequels that were based on Ezio’s life, Assassin’s Creed: Brotherhood and Assassin’s Creed: Revelations, both of which are due to be heavily discounted next week.
