Assetto Corsa EVO is launching this year, and it is beautiful

Assetto Corsa EVO is coming to PC this year

The Steam page for Assetto Corsa EVO has just gone live, revealing a “2024” release for the highly anticipated driving sim. This new racing sim will return the Assetto Corsa EVO series to its roots, with KUNOS Simulazioni using their latest engine tech to create this new game.

Like is predecessor, EVO will include cars from across motoring history. The game will feature road cars, classics, hypercars, and race cars. Each vehicle is digitally reproduced using advanced systems that simulate their mechanics, electronics, and aerodynamic performance. Beyond that, high fidelity racing circuits are coming to the game thanks to new Laserscan technology.

Assetto Corsa EVO has been made to do one thing, to raise the bar of realism. This pillar is what made the Assetto Corsa series famous amongst racing enthusiasts. Now, KUNOS Simulazioni are aiming for greater heights.

Assetto Corsa EVO will be a new KUNOS Simulazioni proprietary game engine

Like the original Assetto Corsa, this new entry in the series will be utilising KUNOS Simulazioni’s proprietary simulation engine. Assetto Corsa Competizione used Unreal Engine 4, but this new game will return to the series’ roots with home grown tech.

At launch, EVO will support VR and triple-screen support. This will make this game ideal for high-end racing sim setups. The game’s custom engine also allows this game to focus specifically on delivering an authentic racing experience.

One new addition to this game is its asphalt performance simulations, which accounts for the game’s dynamic weather system. Based on the screenshots that KUNOS Simulazioni have shared, the game is also a beautiful one.

What’s clear is that the team at Kunos is passionate about what they are creating here. This is a team of motoring enthusiasts, and it shows in their work. Honestly, I cannot wait to see his game in action, especially on a proper racing sim setup.

PC Hardware Requirements

On Steam, Kunos have released the PC system requirements of Assetto Corsa EVO. The game will use Microsoft’s DirectX 12 API, and SSD storage is a hard requirement. By today’s standards, the game’s system requirements are on the low side, suggesting that the game will run well on modern PCs at launch.
