ASUS ROG Reveals Upcoming HDMI 2.1 monitors for PC and Console Gamers

HDMI 2.1 is a gamechanger for PC/Console connectivity, acting as the first HDMI standard to support 4K resolutions an high refresh rates without any limitations, making 4K 120Hz gaming a breeze while also bringing new features to the standard like VRR (Variable Refresh Rates) and ALLM (Auto Low Latency Mode).

ASUS’ ROG Division is aware of the potential of HDMI 2.1, and they are proud to announce that they have a new 43-inch gaming monitor that has been validated with full HDMI 2.1 support, boasting support for the standard’s full 48 Gbps bandwidth. ROG is the first partner of Allion Labs to create an HDMI 2.1 Gaming Monitor, making ROG ready for the release of next-generation PC hardware and both the Xbox Series X and PlayStation 5 consoles.

The new ROG monitor is compatible with next-generation consoles, with HDMI 2.1 giving it a full bandwidth of up to 48 Gbps to support 4K UHD (3840 x 2160) visuals at variable refresh rates of up to 120 Hz. Auto Low Latency also enables the game console to control the processing mode of the display, prioritizing low latency or processing quality depending on the content. Allion Labs subjected the monitor to stringent Fixed Rate Link (FRL) tests, including FRL Electrical, FRL Pixel Decoding and FRL Protocol tests, to ensure full compatibility with upcoming HDMI 2.1 devices.

ROG has confirmed that they plan to release a series of HDMI 2.1 monitors later this year, offering users 27-inch, 32-inch and 43-inch screen size options. This will make these screens suitable for high refresh rate gaming on future PCs and both next-generation consoles.

Expect to hear more about these ROG HDMI 2.1 displays as they get closer to launch.
