Avowed will support 60 FPS on Xbox Series X

Avowed will only be limited to 30 FPS on Xbox Series S

Last year, Obsidian Entertainment’s Art Director, Matt Hansen, stated that Avowed is “targeting 30 FPS” on consoles. Now, the studio has confirmed that Avowed players “can get up to 60 (FPS)” on Xbox Series X. This was confirmed as part of a rapid-fire interview with MinnMax.

What’s worth noting about this new statement is that Obsidian is not promising locked 60 FPS framerates on Xbox Series X in Avowed. That said, we would expect this mode to deliver a relatively stable framerate.

This new performance information should come as good news for gamers on both PC and Xbox Series X users. After all, support for high framerates on consoles makes support for high framerates more feasible on PC. After all, if 60 FPS was impossible on Xbox Series X, you’d need an incredibly powerful PC to achieve that feat.

Avowed is coming to PC and Xbox Series X/S on February 18th. Those who purchase the game’s premium edition will be able to play the game 5 days early on February 13th.
