BlizzCon is coming back, but you’ll have to wait until 2026
BlizzCon 2026 has been announced
It’s official, BlizzCon is making a comeback! No, it won’t be this year, but we can expect some BIG announcements from Blizzard at BlizzCon 2026. The event will be hosted on September 12th and September 13th at the Anaheim Convention Center in 2026.
As of now, we can only guess at what Blizzard plans to reveal at the event. This will be the first BlizzCon event to be hosted since BlizzCon 2024 was scrapped. As such, we expect a lot of Blizzard announcements at this event.
BlizzCon is back! The ultimate celebration of our games and the community that unites us is returning to the Anaheim Convention Center Saturday, September 12, and Sunday, September 13, in 2026.
One of our favorite traditions, BlizzCon brings us together over our shared passion for Blizzardâs universes, but at its heart, BlizzCon has always been about so much more. Itâs about you, the communities you are a part of, and gives us the chance to connect, build friendships, and create unforgettable memories together.
Weâve come a long way since our first event in 2005. Over the past nearly 20 years since its inception, BlizzCon has inspired us to innovate, push the boundaries of creativity, and deliver once-in-a-lifetime moments. Itâs important that we put on an event worthy of our community. For 2026, alongside BlizzCon staples like Opening Ceremony, in-depth panels, the Darkmoon Faire, friendly competition, hands-on gameplay, and more, we aim to meaningfully elevate this iconic celebration and create an unforgettable experience for all who take part in it. We are building this event just like we build our games: with a deep commitment to our players, with respect for your connections to our universes, and as a celebration of the strength of the bonds formed through shared adventure.

For now, we know that Blizzard plans to release another Diablo IV expansion this year, and plans to continue supporting Overwatch 2 and Hearthstone. World of Warcraft has two expansions in the works, including “Midnight” and “The Last Titan.”
Blizzard has not stated why BlizzCon will not have a 2025 event. Strangely, BlizzCon 2025 could have been a 20th Anniversary event for Blizzard. After all, the first BlizzCon was in 2005. Perhaps Blizzard didn’t have enough content to justify a full in-person event. While Blizzard is undoubtedly working on a lot of new projects, most of these projects don’t appear to be ready for a BlizzCon 2025 reveal.
