Bloodborne now runs at high framerates on PC through ShadPS4

It may not run perfectly, but Bloodborne is now running at high framerates on PC through emulation

PlayStation 4 emulation has improved a lot over the past few months. This is mostly thanks to the ongoing development efforts behind ShadPS4, which can now run Bloodborne on PC at high framerates.

While the game is by no means “playable” right now, ShadPS4 can already run the game at much higher framerates than PlayStation 4. Below, BrutalSam showcases the game running at high framerates on a high-end PC. In some areas, the game runs at well over 100 FPS, though in others it dips below 60 FPS. This highlights major performance to the speed of the ShadPS4 emulator. Even so, the emulator still requires a high-end PC to run well.

Sadly, Bloodborne is still plagued by graphical issues when running on ShadPS4. While the game is somewhat playable, we wouldn’t recommend trying it. Visual issues and graphical issues prevent Bloodborne from being enjoyable. Regardless, this showcases huge improvements to ShadPS4’s accuracy and performance over prior versions.

Last month, Red Dead Redemption Remastered was also showcased running on PC through ShadPS4. In time, it is likely that all PlayStation 4 exclusives will become playable on PC through emulation. Since Sony are unlikely to bring all of their PlayStation 4 hits to PC, emulation may become the next best way to play many of these titles, aside from natively running the games on PS4 and PS4 Pro.
