Borderlands 4 will not be a $80 game – PC system requirements revealed

Borderlands 4’s PC system requirements have landed, and they are pretty steep

Borderlands 4 is now available for pre-order, with Steam listing the game’s PC version for £59.99/$69.99. Unlike what was previously expected, Borderlands 4 will not be a $80 game. The game’s due to launch on September 12th, arriving as the franchise’s first current-gen entry.

Hardware-wise, Borderlands 4 will be much harder to run than its predecessor. At a minimum, PC gamers need a CPU with 8 cores or more. Furthermore, gamers need a GPU with 8GB of VRAM and at least 16GB of system memory. SSD storage is also mandatory.

When looking at the game’s recommended requirements, CPUs with 8+ cores are listed, as is 12+ GB of GPU memory. Borderlands 4 is calling for high-end PC hardware, which may be a problem given the popularity of 6-core CPUs.

Nvidia’s RTX 2070 and AMD’s RX 5700 XT are Borderlands 4’s minimum graphics cards. Sadly, the resolution and framerate targets of these GPUs are unknown. The game’s recommended GPUs are Nvidia’s RTX 3080 and AMD’s RX 6800 XT. The game requires 100GB of free storage space.
