Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 owners can now host dedicated servers

Owners of Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 can now host their own unranked dedicated servers with remote management tools which can control your server from any machine.

Those who run custom/dedicated unranked servers can run the game with a list of custom maps and mods, with a large list of commands which can kick users, configure a map playlist or set restrictions on what weapons or other items can be used on the server.

Other options for custom servers include custom respawn timers (including penalties for suicides), custom time/score limits, player health/regen times and spawn protection times to prevent spawn camping.

A large list of console commands and game options are available to read on Steam's Black Ops III Dedicated unranked server guide here.

The unranked dedicated server will allow you to run your own servers, manage the content on those servers, admin who can play on the server, and much more. The unranked dedicated server can be run from the same computer running the game or from a completely separate computer. If your server is run through a server hosting company or simply on a different computer, the remote console allows you to manage your server from any machine regardless of where your server is running.

I think this deserves a round of applause, we haven't had support this good for a CoD title since WaW. For modern AAA standards i'd even call it outstanding support. A shame most people seem to have ignored their efforts, even CoD deserves some praise when they do something right, else they won't do it again.Quote

Exactly, great work here.

I imagine that things would have been very different if COD: Infinite Warfare launched with this kind of support.Quote

Could be a stepping stone to better things for all future COD releases. Lets face it, they will continue to extend the franchise more and more.Quote
