Right now Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare has had a disastrous launch on PC, with the game already dropping from the top 50 played games on Steam, with only 2000 players more than its predecessor Call of Duty: Black Ops III.

At the time of writing Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare has 8,620 concurrent players, which is a massive decrease when compared to the game's player peak of 15,312, a decrease of almost 45%.

Even when compared to older shooters Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare is doing badly on Steam, with Rainbow Six Siege having over 40,000  concurrent players on Steam, which does not include all of the players on other PC gaming platforms like Origin and UPlay.

Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare's playerbase has dropped by over 40% in one week

To many, Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare's PC version is dead on arrival, sporting an awkwardly similar multiplayer experience to other recent Call of Duty titles. Worse still is Activision's decision to separate the multiplayer modes of the Steam and Windows Store versions of the game, dividing the player base and making it almost impossible for Windows Store users to actually find enough players for Multiplayer to function properly.

Right now Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare is not even one of Steam's top 50 games, which a hugely disappointing for one of AAA gaming's most famous franchises.

Epic.... just so epic. I'm actually happy when things like this happen as it will hopefully make the developers (Activision) etc, realize what huge and dumb mistakes they made with the game. And to never do it again in the future hopefully... As if they do, it wouldn't surprise me if it would kill the franschise in the long term.Quote

The playerbase decreasing like that isn't unusual for any game and activision won't care one bit about PC sales.Quote
