Call of Duty: Modern Warfare is the "top-selling Call of Duty PC launch ever"

The Call of Duty series has been a longtime success story for Activision, even with the series' twists and turns. After last weekend's release of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare, Activision has announced that their latest Call of Duty release has already generated $600 million in sales, making it the fastest-selling Call of Duty game of this console generation.

On PC, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare has become the "#1 top-selling Call of Duty PC launch ever", and if you have read our performance review/optimisation guide for the game you will know why. The game runs well, looks great and offers players a compelling, albeit controversial campaign.

Activision has already called Call of Duty: Modern Warfare the top-selling new game release of 2019, claiming that in three days that the game has generated two times more than the box office opening of Joker.

This release places the Call of Duty series in a great position when moving to the next-generation of consoles. That said, the next Call of Duty release will not be made by Infinity Ward, with 2020's Call of Duty coming from Sledgehammer Games.
