Candy Crush Saga coming to Windows 10 by Default

Solitaire, Hearts and Minesweeper will be returning to Windows 10, though alongside these games will be King's Candy Crush Saga. Perhaps this is the price of a Free Upgrade to Windows 10.

While I never really use any of these old games in Windows, I do know a good bunch of people who missed these little timewasters on Windows 8 and 8.1. It is hard to know whether or not where money changed hands for King's Candy Crush to be added to the OS, though I have no doubts that the Microsoft supporting King in this way will anger a fair few people, given that companies shaded past.

Here is Microsoft's Blog post regarding this recent addition to Windows 10;

"Solitaire. Hearts. Minesweeper. These are games that have been played millions of times over the years in Windows. And they are coming back in Windows 10. If you’re a Windows Insider, you can check out a preview of the new Microsoft Solitaire Collection that’s included in the latest build of the Windows 10 Insider Preview (Build 10074). In addition to these games, we’re also working with partners to bring some of their great games to Windows 10 too. And we’re excited to be able to announce today that King will bring their game, Candy Crush Saga, to Windows 10. Candy Crush Saga will be automatically installed for customers that upgrade to or download Windows 10 during the launch! Over time, other popular and awesome King game titles will be available for Windows 10. Ever since Candy Crush Saga arrived for Windows Phone, I’ve spent countless hours of fun matching candies. I’m really looking to playing Candy Crush Saga and King’s other game titles on Windows 10."

Candy Crush Saga coming to Windows 10 by Default

Microsoft have said that more games will be coming to Windows 10 via King in the future, so we know that Microsoft will be making yet more gaming additions to it's base OS. This will sadden a lot of people as right now the addition of these games will be done by default, and as many of us power PC users are aware, SSD space is limited and we would rather have a less bulky OS without these addons.

How King Games will be added to Windows 10 remains unclear, but sadly this is something that we will have to live with to use Microsoft's latest OS.

Ew get that away from me

Didn't someone else make a Candy Crush game first, then the Candy Crush Saga (King, apparently?) people blatantly copied it, sued the original and won cause they had more money?

That, and because it's a Facebook thing are reason enough for me to immediately find a way to get it off my computer.Quote
