Resident Evil 4's remake is due to release in March 2023
It's finally official, Resident Evil 4 is getting a current-generation remake, with Copcom revealing that the game will be coming to current-generation console platforms and PC on March 24th 2023 with a reimagined storyline.
A reimagined storyline? What does that mean? Like Resident Evil 2 and 3's recent remakes, Resident Evil 4 will be recreated with modern visuals and a reworked storyline. While most events from the game will remain the same at the early 2000s original, some aspects of the story will change to give the game a "fresh feeling".
Resident Evil 4's remake is designed to "preserve the essence" of the original game while modernising the game's visuals and controls for modern audiences. The game is based six years after the events of Resident Evil 2/3, with players once again taking control of Lean S. Kennedy, who has now been recruited to rescue the kidnapped daughter of the President of the United States.
Capcom has confirmed that Resident Evil 4 will contain PSVR2 exclusive content on PlayStation 5, and at this time no VR content has been confirmed for the PC version of Resident Evil 4. At this time, Sony and Capcom have not revealed any additional PlayStation exclusive content for Resident Evil 4.
On PC, Resident Evil 4 will be launching via Valve's Steam platform.
