Control Resonant will be at Nvidia GeForce On
Remedy plans to showcase Control Resonant at GeForce On
Remedy has confirmed that it plans to showcase Control Resonant at Nvidia’s GDC 2026 “GeForce On Community Update”. Control Resonant is Remedy’s sequel to Control, which revisits the series with Dylan Faden as the game’s protagonist. Dylan Faden is the brother of Control’s protagonist, Jessie Faden.
Control was a ray-tracing showcase when it launched in 2019 and was one of the first games to utilise Nvidia’s DLSS 2 technology. With its presence at GeForce On confirmed, we expect Control Resonant to be showcased with full ray tracing (path tracing) and DLSS 4.5 at GDC 2026. Control was one of Nvidia’s original RTX showcases, and we expect Control Resonant to receive the same treatment.
Control Resonant isn’t Control 2
Unlike Control, Control Resonant will be a hack-and-slash game, with Dylan Faden’s weapon being “The Aberrant”, a shape-shifting melee weapon. Manhattan is facing paranormal annihilation, and Dylan has to leave the Federal Bureau of Control (FBC) to combat this threat.
Dylan needs to unlock his full supernatural potential and comprehend and contain the paranormal threats facing New York. The city is overrun by the chaotic “Hiss” and the invasive “Mold”, both of which seek to tear the world apart.
Control was a graphical showcase when it launched, and the title quickly became a favourite amongst players. Control Resonant’s shift to melee-focused combat is a major shift over the original. In many regards, this sequel will play differently to Control. That said, the game will retain the original’s focus on story and exploration.
Like the original, Control Resonant appears to be a great-looking game. Unlike its predecessor, which launched on Xbox One and PS4, Resonant will only be available on current-generation consoles. That means that this game will have higher hardware requirements on PC, and should feature stronger visuals.
Control Resonant is due to be released sometime this year. We expect to hear more about the game later today at Nvidia’s GeForce On event.
