Control Ultimate Edition’s latest update adds new content and enhanced visual options
Control Ultimate Edition now looks better than ever on PC
Remedy has released Update 1.30 for Control Ultimate Edition, adding new content and enhanced graphical options to the game’s PC version. Formerly pre-order exclusive outfits are now available to all players. Furthermore, the game’s PS4 Deluxe Edition exclusive “Dr. Yoshimi Tokui’s Guided Imagery Experience” is now available to all players. This mission features a voiceover from Hideo Kojima.
On PC, update 1.30 adds support for HDR to Control alongside new “Ultra ray tracing” options. These options use more rays per pixel to deliver increased temporal stability. The game’s DLSS support has also been updated to add DLAA support. The game’s DLSS version is DLSS 3.7.
Other PC improvements include a move from 8-bit SDR support to 10-bit SDR support, decreasing colour banding within the game. Additionally, ultrawide monitor support (up to 48×9) is now available. Furthermore, resolutions beyond 4K are now supported.
While Control Ultimate Edition didn’t really need an update, all of the changes that update 1.3 delivers are welcome. HDR support is a welcome update for those with high-end screens. Higher-end ray tracing and DLSS options will also be a welcome sight for users of Nvidia’s latest GPUs. However, it should be noted that this update does not add DLSS Frame Generation support to Control.
