Corsair acquires SCUF Gaming, adding premium gamepads to its product portfolio

Since 2011, SCUF Gaming has created gamepads to suit all gamers, be it on PC or console platforms. SCUF has become famous for adding extra buttons to its unique gamepad designs while also delivering improved playouts and performance-focused alterations. When it comes to gamepads, SCUF is one of the most highly regarded names on the market.

Today, Corsair has announced that it has agreed to acquired SCUF Gaming, expecting its transaction to complete within the next 30 days. This acquisition will add gamepads to Corsair’s peripheral lineup, filling a gap in Corsair’s consumer base.

Over the past two years, Corsair has acquired Origin PC and Elgato Gaming, both of which are big names within their respective markets. Adding SCUF into the mix brings the Corsair name to more gamers, bringing the company into the controller market with some of the most customisable gamepads available.

SCUF has a strong brand amongst the streaming and eSports markets, having deep partnerships with Activision for Call of Duty and gaming leagues that include the NBA 2K League and eMLS.

SCUF Gaming will remain a separate brand from Corsair, continuing to operate from its Atlanta HQ and regional offices. All existing SCUF Gaming warranties, purchases and support services will be honoured by SCUF Gaming.

Corsair has now expanded into system building, streaming and gamepad design, allowing Corsair to influence large areas of the PC gaming market. The question now is what’s next? We think Corsair’s next step is monitors.
