Crash Bandicoot Netflix series in the works – reports claim
It looks like Crash Bandicoot is the newest video game classic to move to Netflix
Netflix is the king of video game adaptations. In recent years, Netflix has adapted Castlevania, Tomb Raider, Splinter Cell, Sonic the Hedgehog, and even Cyberpunk 2077. Now, the streaming giant is reportedly developing a new animated series based on Crash Bandicoot.
According to What’s On Netflix, Netflix is not ready to reveal any story details or other information about the series. While Wildbrain Studios was initially reported as the company behind the adaptation, it has since denied the claim. As of now, everything is “under wraps”.
Crash Bandicoot was originally developed by Naughty Dog, and later moved from publisher to publisher after the game’s original developers moved on from the series. Today, Crash Bandicoot is owned by Activision, which is now owned by Microsoft. The series resurged in popularity after the release of the Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Troligy, and the release of Crash Bandicoot 4: It’s About Time.
Based on these reports, it is clear that Microsoft/Activision is trying to keep the Crash Bandicoot series alive. However, it is unknown if any new Crash Bandicoot games are currently in development. While a Netflix series could be good for the franchise, it is unclear if gamers will be able to play a new Crash series game anytime soon.
