Cyberpunk 2077 is coming to Apple Silicon Macs

Cyberpunk 2077 Ultimate Edition is coming to Mac next year

Following the reveal of Apple’s new M4-powered MacBook Pro devices, CD Projekt Red has confirmed that Cyberpunk 2077 will be coming to Apple MacOS. The Mac version of the game will be coming to the Mac App Store and Steam in the form of Cyberpunk 2077 Ultimate Edition, with existing PC purchases carrying over to Mac on Steam.

Cyberpunk 2077 will be exclusive to Apple Silicon Macs. This means that the game will not work on older pre-Apple Silicon Macs. All of the game’s content, including its Phantom Liberty expansion, will be coming to Mac.

It is unknown why CD Projekt Red is bringing Cyberpunk 2077 to Apple Silicon devices. The company is likely receiving a lot of financial support from Apple to bring the game to MacOS. This is to help build up Mac’s prestige as a potential gaming platform.

Earlier this year, it was reported that Apple’s AAA gaming push for iPhone hasn’t been successful. The Apple iOS port sold less than 3,000 copies, and Resident Evil 4’s Remake reportedly sold only 7,000 copies. In MacOS, we do not expect Cyberpunk 2077 to sell well. While the game is excellent, MacOS isn’t a huge gaming platform. There’s a reason why this game isn’t already available on MacOS.
