DC reveals Gotham Knights, a game focused on Batman’s proteges

Warner Brothers and DC have just revealed Gotham Knights, the latest title from Warner Brothers Games Montreal. Batman is dead, and the safety of Gotham has fallen to the caped crusader’s proteges, Batgirl, Nightwing, Red Hood and Robin.

Gotham Knights is due to release in 2021 on PC, Xbox One, Xbox Series X, PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 4. The game will be a single-player and co-op action role-playing game where Batgirl, Nightwing, Red Hood and Robin all act as playable characters.

Within the game’s cinematic trailer, villains such as Mr Freeze and members of the Court of Owls are clearly visible, though the game’s developers have confirmed that gamers can expect to see a wider cast of villains and a complex storyline.

Below, gamers will be able to see almost eight minutes of gameplay from Gotham Knights. This footage was captured from a pre-alpha version of the game using an unknown gaming platform.

Each of the game’s Gotham Knights will feature unique combat styles, and all missions will be playable in solo mode or in two-player co-op mode. Much of the game’s story is said to stem from DC’s popular Court of Owls comics, Enemies will scale in difficulty as players level up, ensuring that the game will remain challenging as its story progresses.
