DOOM The Dark Ages is coming to PC on May 15th
Microsoft has announced that DOOM: The Dark Ages will be coming to PC and consoles on May 15th, arriving on both PC and console platforms. So far, the game has been confirmed for PC, Xbox Series X/S, and PlayStation 5.
The game is a prequel to DOOM (2016) and DOOM Eternal, with players stepping into the boots of the DOOM Slayer as part of a Medieval-style war against the forces of Hell. This will be the first current-gen exclusive DOOM game, allowing id software to create their most advanced series entry to date.
Developed by id Software, DOOM: The Dark Ages is the prequel to the critically acclaimed DOOM (2016) and DOOM Eternal that tells an epic cinematic story of the DOOM Slayerâs rage. In this third installment of the modern DOOM series, players will step into the blood-stained boots of the DOOM Slayer, in this never-before-seen dark and sinister medieval war against Hell.
DOOM The Dark Ages PC System Requirements
DOOM The Dark Ages is much more demanding than its predecessors. The game will require a CPU with at least eight Zen 2 or better CPU cores. Additionally, the game will require a GPU that supports ray tracing and has at least 8GB of VRAM. Furthermore, the game will require 100GB of NVMe SSD storage.
id Software has integrated ray tracing deep into their game. Like Indiana Jones and The Great Circle, try tracing cannot be turned off in The Dark Age. Even weapon hit detection uses a GPU’s ready tracing features for complete accuracy. As always, id software is making clever use of modern hardware.
