EA confirms that the “Final Chapter” of the Star Wars Jedi series is in development

Respawn are currently working on the series finale of their Star Wars Jedi game series

At their latest Investor Day Presentation, EA confirmed that Respawn Entertainment is working on a new game for the Star Wars Jedi series. Furthermore, the company confirmed that the game would be the “final chapter” of the Cal Kestis saga.

This news comes one week after Update 9 for Star Wars Jedi: Survivor (for PC) was released. This update has largely addressed the game’s performance issues on PC. Additionally, the game has just launched on last-generation consoles (PS4 and Xbox One), bringing it to a new audience.

Sadly, EA has not revealed more about its next Jedi series game. That said, if the series is to continue past its third instalment, it will have to follow a new Jedi protagonist. Should the series continue to prove successful, there is little reason why EA couldn’t continue without Cal Kestis.

Currently, it is unknown when Respawn Entertainment’s new Star Wars game will be released. It is likely that it will launch during this console generation and that it will be a current-generation exclusive. While Respawn successfully brought the second game to last-generation consoles, the same may not be possible for their next game.

We expect EA to reveal more about their next Jedi series game when it is closer to launch.
