EA will reveal its next-gen Battlefield game this summer

Expect EA to reveal their next Battlefield game this summer

During the company’s latest earnings call, EA CEO Andrew Wilson confirmed that it plans to reveal its next Battlefield game “this summer.” The game is due to be released during the company’s 2026 financial year. If that is the case, Battlefield fans could expect to be playing the series’ next entry within the next 12 months.

Recently, EA’s been actively running Battlefield playtests with the Battlefield community. Based on the company’s reveal plans, these playtests have been a success. With this release, the company aims to consign the horrible launch of Battlefield 2042 to the history books and revitalise the franchise.

As we look to the future, we’re confident in our ability to execute across a deep pipeline – beginning this summer with the highly anticipated reveal of Battlefield, a pivotal step in delivering on our next generation of blockbuster entertainment.

Even without new releases, Battlefield has remained a popular franchise on PC. Even today, most of the series’ newer entries have a strong playerbase. On Steam, Battlefield V currently has over 15,000 concurrent players, and Battlefield 1 has over 16,500 players. Even Battlefield 2042 has almost 10,000 players at the time of writing. Not bad for a series that hasn’t had a new game launch since 2021.

As of now, we expect the next Battlefield game to be released in late 2025.
