EA has released the pricing model for private Battlefield 1 servers.

PC players will have to pay a premium

All Battlefield 1 rental servers will be operated by EA

EA has released the pricing model for private Battlefield 1 servers.

Earlier this month EA confirmed that all Battlefield 1 server rentals will be operated by EA, ending the ability to rent your own 3rd party server for the game.

This change is a double-edged sword for end users, as it will allow EA to place quality control measures on Battlefield 1 servers, giving all players the same experience when renting a server, though it also fixes the pricing of servers and takes away the competition provided by 3rd party server suppliers.

Today EA has released the pricing model for private Battlefield 1 servers, with servers costing 50% more on PC than on Xbox One or PS4. Below is the pricing for Battlefield 1 private servers on PC and console.

  • 1 day:-  $2.99 on PC $1.99 on PS4/Xbox One
  • 7 days:-  $11.99 on PC $7.99 on PS4/Xbox One
  • 30 days:-  $42.99 on PC $26.99 on PS4/Xbox One
  • 90 days:-  $99.99 on PC $64.99 on PS4/Xbox One
  • 180 days:-  $149.99 on PC $99.99 on PS4/Xbox One

Private servers will be coming to Battlefield 1 in November, allowing Battlefield 1 players will be able to host both public and private matches, with the ability to name their server, set a rotation for maps and game modes as well as tweak various gameplay settings.

EA does state that rented servers may have some restrictions at launch, gradually enabling more features over time based on customer feedback.

And that has just put the final nail in the coffin for me, I am not willing to be charged 50% more for a server just because I play on the PC and not on a console.Quote

Wow, the prices aren't terrible but the fact PC costs 50% more... what are they playing at?

Notice the discussion has been closed on that page.. I can only imagine how that went on...Quote

So much ridiculous stuff here it's hard to place what has annoyed me the most with EA only server rental.

Coming from multiple private servers for the majority of the battlefield franchise, the price alone is ridiculous, let alone the 50% premium for PC users!

I assume that additional 3rd party plug-ins such as ProCon will be unavailable, wonder how long before EA decide that private servers can be rented elsewhere?Quote

I know it will not happen, but it would be nice if this came back and bit them, with really low PC sales of the gameQuote
