Edward Kenway’s Voice Actor teases upcoming Assassin’s Creed 4: Black Flag Remake

Ubisoft’s planned Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Remake continues to be the company’s worst-kept secret

Ubisoft’s long-rumoured Assassin’s Creed 4: Black Flag Remake is almost certainly real. The original game is a classic and is often regarded as one of the franchise’s best entries. Following years of leaks, Edward Kenway’s voice actor, Matt Ryan, has been found teasing the upcoming remaster. “Have you beat the game?… well you may have to beat it again”, “There’s a reason I say that but I can’t say anything…”

Let’s face it, this remake is happening. What else could Matt Ryan be implying here? When will this Remake be announced? When will it be released? That is uncertain. It’s almost certainly coming. We just need Ubisoft to officially confirm it.

With Ubisoft’s Black Flag remake being a remake, and not a remaster, we can expect the game to be rebuilt from the ground up. That means we should expect to see massive visual upgrades over the 2013 original. This will not be a 4K 60Hz re-release of the original. Expect to see more substantial changes.

Black Flag is one of the best games in the Assassin’s Creed series, and one of its most unique adventures. With improved gameplay and visuals, a remake of this classic game is a guaranteed success for Ubisoft. That said, Ubisoft needs this game to live up to its potential. Assassin’s Creed: Shadows was a success, but Ubisoft needs more than one hit to dig itself out of its financial woes.
