Elden Ring has a “sequel”, and it’s launching in 2025

From Software has revealed Elden Ring Nightreign, a standalone Elden Ring game

At The Game Awards, From Software and Bandai Namco revealed Elden Ring Nightreign, a standalone Elden Ring game offering players a “new gaming experience.”

Unlike Elden Ring, players can choose from one of eight set characters. Each of these characters is powerful and unique. This limits the ability of players to create custom character builds but allows From Software to focus on specific playstyles.

Nightreign is intended for co-op play. Three players can join forces to battle the game’s “Nightlord.” The game takes place over three in-game nights, with the map changing each day. Players must explore the map and combat mighty foes to become stronger, preparing for the upcoming battle with the Nightlord.

Based on what From Software has revealed, Nightreign sounds like a rogue-like game based in a parallel Elden Ring universe. An interesting idea. Note that Nightreign is not a sequel; it’s a standalone game with its own story.

ELDEN RING NIGHTREIGN is a standalone adventure within the ELDEN RING universe, crafted to bring a new gaming experience.

Join forces with other players to take on the creeping night and the dangers within featuring 3-player co-op, uniquely skilled champions, and relentless threats.

Bandai Namco and From Software have confirmed that Nightreign will launch in 2025 on PC and consoles. The game will be available on PC through Steam. The game will also be available on PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series consoles.
