Elden Ring receives a major performance boost on PC patch 1.12

Elden Ring’s pre-Shadow of the Erdtree update has given the game a major performance boost on PC

Ahead of the release of the game’s highly anticipated Shadow of Erdtree DLC, From Software has released patch 1.12 for Elden Ring. Thank to MxBenchmarkPC, we now know that this update has given Elden Ring a major framerate boost.

At 4K, maximum settings, with an RTX 4080 graphics card, Elden Ring’s framerates have jumped from 50 FPS to 60 FPS in many areas. That’s a huge performance leap. That said, it remains unclear if gamers can expect a similar performance boost when ray tracing is disabled.

Sadly, update 1.1.2 has not addressed some of the strange omissions from Elden Ring’s PC version. For example, the game still has a 60 FPS cap. Additionally, the game lacks support for modern upscaling technologies like DLSS, FSR, or XeSS. However, mods are available that can address some of these issues.

Today’s patch paves the way for the release of From Software’s Shadow of the Erdtree DLC for Elden Ring. The DLC will be available tomorrow on PC. PlayStation 4/5, and Xbox One/Series.
