Elden Ring is getting an expansion called “Shadow of the Erdtree”

From Software are currently working on an expansion for Elden Ring

Over a year has passed since Elden Ring launched, and to say that the game was a success is an understatement, becoming From Software’s fastest-selling game to date. Today, From Software has confirmed that they now have an expansion for Elden Ring in development called “Shadow of the Erdtree”. 

Unfortunately, From Software has not released many details about their planned Elden Ring expansion, with the expansion lacking a release date, and story details, or information about any new gameplay mechanics that the expansion may add. All we know is the expansion’s name, and aside from that all we have is some of the expansion’s initial artwork.

Elden Ring’s Shadow of the Erdtree expansion will likely feature new areas to explore, new weapons, bosses, and lore for fans of the game to enjoy. Since the expansion has no firm release date or gameplay trailer, it is likely that the expansion is not releasing anytime soon, with a late 2023 release seeming likely.
