Elite Dangerous: 2.4 - The Return will release on September 26th

Frontier Developments has officially revealed the release date of Elite Dangerous: 2.4 - The Return, stating that the update will launch on September 26th with its first batch of content.

This was revealed on Frontier's "Thargoid Lore" livestream, which is available to view below. This video gives players a rundown on what is currently known about the alien Thargoid race, confirming that the Thargoids have attacked humanity and that an arms race is ongoing to help mankind fight back against the technologically superior alien race.

Version 2.4 will not launch with all of its content enabled from the start. All of this update's content releasing in stages so that players are not instantly swamped with new gameplay mechanics on launch day. During this time the war against the Thargoids will develop further and new weapons and gameplay opportunities will open up to players.

At the end of this livestream Frontier Developments released their first Cinematic Short for their 2.4 update, showcasing the first weapons test that the Aegis group conducted against the Thargoid threat using humanities latest weapons tech.

It is hinted that additional "Cinematic Shorts" will be released in the future to highlight future content updates.

I want to get back into the game but it's been so long and Everytime I try to play my settings are always reset to default I end up spending 2 hours to get them setup just right just so the next day they get reset. Really puts me off trying to play as much as I would love to fight this alien raceQuote

Did that. Still resets.
Although I did not change it to read only. How would I do that? Just right click on properties and hit read only? Or is it a different file?Quote

Prettymuch the file you make the changes to, which i assume is FoV settings and maybe a few other things, then yeah just right click and read only ticked on.

For me the FoV is the only thing that resets every single time, control profiles stay the same.Quote
