F1 24 has become the first game to support Intel XeSS 2

Intel’s next-generation AI upscaler is now available in F1 24, with Frame Generation and Low Latency support

Update 1.16 has been released for F1 24, adding support for Intel XeSS 2, the company’s next-generation upscaling solution. With XeSS 2, Intel had added AI-based frame generation to XeSS. Additionally, Intel has created XeLL (Xe Low Latency) to make games more responsive, thanks to reduced input delays.

Sadly, Intel has not released driver updates for their hardware that enable support for XeSS 2. XeSS 2 only runs on “supporting hardware”, which likely means that it will only work with Intel graphics cards. Xe Frame Generation (XeFG) may only work on Intel Battlemage and Alchemist GPUs. However, we expect Intel to clarify this when they release their XeSS 2 driver. XeSS Frame Generation is unlikely to work on non-Intel GPUs.

Added support for XeSS 2, which will be enabled on supporting hardware with an upcoming driver update from Intel (PC Only)

When using compatible hardware, F1 24 will support higher frame rates and smoother gameplay using XeSS Frame Generation (XeSS-FG) through AI-based frame interpolation. When paired with Xe Low Latency (XeLL), this reduces input delay for a more immersive experience.

XeSS 2 will soon be available in more games, with Intel confirming that Dying Light 2, Robocop, Marvel’s Rivals, and others will soon receive updates.
