Facebook and Instagram are down – Have you been signed out?

Did you just get randomly signed out of Facebook or Instagram? You’re not the only one. Users around the world are currently suffering the effects of Meta’s latest platform outage. Right now, anyone who tries to log into the platform is getting their passwords rejected, even if their passwords are correct.

So far, we have confirmed that Facebook, Messenger, Instagram, and Threads are effected by this outage. Meta (Facebook’s parent company) are yet to comment on the outage, and at this time there is no ETA for when their services will be fixed. WhatsApp currently appears to be working as normal. It is not impacted by today’s Meta outage.

The good news is that your accounts have not been hacked. That’s what we first feared when we couldn’t access our social media accounts. This is a simple service disruption, not anything more nefarious.

Hopefully, Meta will be able to address this outage soon, or at least give us an ETA on a fix. Right now, would-be Facebook and Instagram users are flocking to Twitter/X to vent their frustration, or at least confirm that they aren’t the only ones affected.
