Far Cry 6's PC system requirements and features have been revealed

Ubisoft has just released Far Cry 6's PC system requirements, allowing PC gamers to ensure that their systems are ready for the game when it launched on October 7th.

As a cross-generation PC title, Far Cry 6 is designed to run on both last-generation and current-generation console and PC hardware, allowing the game to scale well from low-end PCs to the beefiest of today's high-end PC rigs.

On PC, Far Cry 6 will support uncapped framerates, a large number of graphical options, multi-monitor and ultra-widescreen setups, DirectX Ray Tracing and AMD's FidelityFX Super Resolution feature. The game will also include a built-in benchmarking utility.

When looking at the game's hardware requirements, it is worth noting that Ubisoft has recommended SSD storage to all PC players, highlighting that the gaming industry is quickly shifting to SSD-based storage. It won't be long before HDDs are too slow to run many modern games, relegating HDDs to long-term game storage, not playback devices.

Far Cry 6 is a DirectX 12 title designed to work on Windows 10 64-bit and newer Windows OS'. Ubisoft has also recommended that Far Cry 6 players use dual-channel memory when playing the game, highlighting that the game will have high bandwidth requirements.

Below are Far Cry 6's full PC system requirements. Note that these requirements are based on tests performed with AMD's FidelityFX Super Resolution feature disabled. FidelityFX Super Resolution is a reconstruction technique that can be used to boost the performance of supported titles. This technique should make 4K 60 FPS gameplay achievable on high-end systems and 1440p 60 FPS gameplay a lot more accessible.

Looks like Ubi messed up those RT GPU 1440P and 4K system requirements, I'm guessing they meant 6800 for 1440P RT and 6900XT for 4K RT.Quote

Me too, sort of. I doubt that I'll play it on launch. But it's one Ubisoft franchise that never disappoints.Quote

I'll probably look at it for the visuals then remove it. I found FC5 just a stupid senseless bore. Doing dumb things like punching animals hundreds of feet in the sky ruined any kind of realism I had for the game.

So my expectations on the absurdity of this one are high.Quote
