Fortnite has already earned $15 million on iOS
Epic Games has showcased the sheer malleability of their Unreal Engine 4 Engine by creating a mobile version of Fortnite: Battle Royale, not only creating a visually appealing mobile port but a version of the game which can run alongside the title’s PC and multiplayer versions with cross-platform play. Regardless of how you look at this, Epic Games has accomplished an impressive feat here.Â
Â
So far Fortnite is only available on iOS devices and has reportedly earned over $15 million since the game’s release on the platform, which is a tremendous amount of money for a free-to-play game that was released less than a month ago.Â
Right now, Fortnite: Battle Royale is the number one game on the Apple app store in over 20 regions worldwide, with the game earning an expected $6 in the US alone during the past week.Â
Â
Fortnite has quickly become one of mobile gaming’s most successful launches, though the game is expected to find a much larger playerbase when it releases on Android later this year.Â
Fortnite currently supports s cross-platform play on Windows PC, Xbox One, PS4, MacOS and iOS, though PS4 and Xbox One players are artificially blocked from playing with/against one another. Save games, progress and rewards are shared between all platforms, allowing players to play on their mobile phones and later play the game on their consoles or PC.Â
