Fortnite's gaining a "Performance Mode" later this month on PC

On December 15th, Fortnite will become more accessible than ever on PC, delivering PC gamers the ability to opt-out of the title's high-resolution textures and an all-new "Performance Mode".

With Performance Mode, PC gamers will receive higher framerates than ever, making the game playable on lower-end hardware. Even those using budget laptops with Integrated graphics will now be able to play Fortnite with playable framerates, significantly lowering the game's minimum system requirements on PC.

This new rendering mode will be accessible from Fortnite's options menu on December 15th, trading visual quality for higher framerates on low-end PCs.

Within Fortnite's options within the Epic Games Store launcher, Fortnite players will now be able to opt-out of Fortnite's high-resolution texture pack. allowing the game's install size to be shrunk by 14.48GB. This will drop Fortnite's total install size far below 30GB, which is great news for PC gamers with limited storage space.
