Forza Horizon 4 pre-load data released 4 months early – Car List Leaked

Over the weekend, Forza Horizon 4 became available to pre-load on the Microsoft Windows Store, almost four months before the game’s official release on October 2nd.

Playground Games has released a statement which says that players can safely delete this pre-release data, confirming that the game will download automatically when the game is released. At this time, it is unknown how the game started pre-loading, though it suggests that the game is in an almost launch-ready state.

Today, some of you noticed Forza Horizon 4 game files preloading on your PCs. This was not intended and you don’t have to do anything. The final game will download automatically when it is released. If you’d like, you can safely uninstall the downloaded files.

Thanks to this unintended preload, fans over at the Forza Subreddit have been able to have a look at the data included in the pre-load and have compiled a list of vehicles that will be available to drive in the game. This list is considered incomplete, as Playground Games will be able to add more cars to the game before launch.

A full list of the vehicles included in Forza Horizon 4’s initial preload can be viewed on the Forza subreddit, thanks to a substantial post from willbsn13.

The preload data for Forza Horizon 4 was a whopping 90GB in size, which indicates that the game will be full of Ultra-HD textures and other high fidelity assets. Microsoft’s first-party releases are getting insanely large, partially thanks to the Xbox One X’s RAM heavy nature, which allows them to make use of higher resolution textures than the standard Xbox One and PS4 consoles.

Let’s hope that Microsoft and Playground games can come to their senses and can lock the game’s high-resolution textures behind an optional HD texture pack download, as plenty of PC gamers would prefer like to lower the game’s storage requirements, especially if they don’t use high-resolution displays.
