FSR 4 Fail – AMD’s FSR 4 driver for Cyberpunk 2077 remains MIA

Cyberpunk 2077 still lacks AMD FSR 4 support, despite the release of patch 2.3

Cyberpunk 2077’s patch 2.3, released on July 16th, introduced support for AMD FSR 3.1 and AMD FSR 4 to the game. Sadly, CD Project Red’s patch notes confirmed that FSR 4 support would be delivered with an “upcoming driver update.” Now, almost two weeks later, this driver remains unavailable.

AMD’s newest GPU driver is AMD Software version 25.6.3, which launched on June 30th. Even AMD’s FSR Technical Preview driver lacks support for Cyberpunk 2077 at the time of writing.

FSR 4 is one of the crowning features of AMD’s RDNA 4 graphics cards. Gamers want to see FSR 4 in more games. Even now, Cyberpunk 2077 remains one of the PC’s most popular games. FSR 4 support in this game should be a priority for AMD. This is especially true given the fact that patch 2.3 was advertised as supporting AMD FSR 4.

(FSR 4 delivers a huge image quality boost over FSR 3.1)

Did Cyberpunk 2077’s FSR 3.1 update catch AMD off guard? Is that why an FSR 4 driver for CP 2077 remains unavailable? If not, why is AMD unable to release an FSR 4 driver for this game?

AMD’s success with Radeon is tied to FSR 4. If AMD wants to gain market share, it needs to tackle Nvidia’s DLSS advantage. That means that AMD needs to bring FSR 4 to more games. Furthermore, AMD needs to bring FSR 4 support to games with large player bases. So far, AMD has not commented on their lack of an FSR 4 driver for Cyberpunk 2077. This is hugely disappointing. Let’s hope that AMD can rectify this issue soon.
