Futuremark announce two new VR benchmark tools

Future marks has today officially announced two new VR benchmarking tools, one for desktop PC testing with DirectX12 and one for mobile VR solutions.

Both of these new benchmarks will release in 2017, with the new DX12 "Cyan Room" sitting between Futuremark's already release Orange Room and Blue Room benchmarks, which both use the ageing DX11 API. The new VRMARK mobile benchmarks will be designed for mobile headsets like Google Daydream, Cardboard and GearVR. This test will not only test how fast VR applications will run, but how performance changes after extended use.

The new VRMARK mobile benchmarks will be designed for mobile headsets like Google Daydream, Cardboard and GearVR. This test will not only test how fast VR applications will run, but how performance changes after extended use. This will detect if your device is starting to downclock due to thermal issues or battery life-saving functions.

Future mark has also announced their new Servermark benchmark suite, which is designed to evaluate servers which are used as virtual desktops, with a transcoding-specific benchmark which can determine how many video streams the server can handle using specific codecs.

Right now there are also plans to release specific benchmarks for Web Servers, File Servers and Database servers, giving this tool a lot of versatility for server users/builders.

Not sure, it could be a free update or a paid for add-on like Sime Spy for 3DM.Quote
