Games start to include warning for Intel 13th/14th gen CPU users
Path of Titans now includes a crash warning for Intel Raptor Lake CPU users
Earlier this month, Alderton Games, the developer behind Path of Titans, the Dinosaur MMO Survival game, confirmed that they would be adding a “problematic CPU” warning to the game. This warning is shown to gamers who use an Intel 13th or 14th generation Raptor Lake CPU. These CPUs have been found to be unstable when playing many games, leading the developer to take action.
Now, gamers who experience crashes may see a notification like the one below. This is a crash report that was photographed by @9550pro on X. This crash report warns users who use Intel Raptor Lake CPUs and directs them to information that may help them.
Intel has confirmed that they have a “microcode patch” coming that should prevent more Raptor Lake CPUs from becoming unstable. However, Intel has confirmed that already unstable CPUs may be permanently damaged. Users of unstable CPUs should contact Intel customer services to get their CPU replaced. When asked about their upcoming update, Intel only confirmed that their update was an “effective preventative solution”.
