Grand Theft Auto VI Leaks reportedly come from PC version

Recent GTA 6 leaks appear to be coming from the game’s PC version

Footage for Grand Theft Auto VI has started to leak, and it looks like the leaker has access to a playable build of the game. One video shows a player spraying “LEEK” onto the wall with bullets, something unlikely to appear in official Rockstar game footage. Furthermore, reports claim the leaked footage comes from a PC build of Grand Theft Auto VI, not the game’s console versions.

When the game launches on November 19th, GTA 6 will be released exclusively on consoles. Specifically, it will come to PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S. This means that the game will lack an official PC version at launch. Despite this, various outlets have reported that recent Grand Theft Auto leaks have originated from a PC version of the game.

While GTA 6 isn’t launching on PC, a PC release for the game seems inevitable. Even now, Grand Theft Auto V remains one of the most played games on Steam. Furthermore, Rockstar commonly releases its games on consoles first and PC later. Saying a PC version of Grand Theft Auto 6 is expected is an understatement. With that in mind, it makes sense that a PC version of the game is already in development.

Lots of new GTA 6 videos have appeared online

Even for games without official PC versions, functional PC builds often exist for testing. These versions often have limited functionality and lack PC-specific features like graphical options menus and other common PC-focused functions. Let’s be clear, Rockstar isn’t holding back a fully functional PC release of Grand Theft Auto VI.

This week’s GTA 6 leaks are a nightmare for Rockstar. While the company is quickly taking down leaked game footage, there’s no shortage of people reuploading these videos and sharing them online. We will not comment on the content of these leaked videos here or share them. That said, you can easily find them online, at least right now.

Are this week’s GTA VI leaks coming from a PC version of the game? Maybe. If it did, it’s not surprising that a PC build exists. Games are built on PC after all.
