Grand Theft Auto V’s getting expanded and enhanced for PS5 and Xbox Series X/S in November

Rockstar Games has confirmed that Grand Theft Auto V and Grand Theft Auto Online are getting “expanded and enhanced” for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S, arriving on November 11th with “new features and more”.

A standalone version of GTA Online will be made available on both platforms, with PlayStation 5 owners getting free access to this new version of GTA Online for free for the first three months after its release.

At this time, it is unknown Grand Theft Auto V will be enhanced for the latest consoles or if the game’s PC version will be receiving similar enhancements. Rockstar has not detailed how GTA V will be enhanced on Xbox Series X/S and PlayStation 5. GTA V and GTA Online are currently playable on PS5 and Xbox Series X/S through backwards compatibility.

With the game’s “next-generation” release on Xbox Series X/S and PlayStation 5, GTA V will become a game that spans three console generations, being available on PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, Xbox One, PlayStation 4, PC, Xbox Series X/S, and PlayStation 5. This highlights how much staying power GTA V has had within the minds of gamers and how much money Rockstar Games continues to make from the game across PC and consoles.

Rockstar Games has also confirmed that they will be doing something to honour the 20th anniversary of Grand Theft Auto III, which launched on October 22nd 2001. It is unknown what Rockstar is planning, but it will include content that’s specifically for GTA Online players.
