GTA V Enhanced Edition is now available on PC

Grand Theft Auto V’s PC Enhanced Edition is now available to play

GTA V Enhanced is now available on PC, and it is a free upgrade for existing owners of the game. With this upgrade, the game will receive access to “next-gen” features that were previously only available on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X. Additionally, the game has received PC-only enhancements, including ray traced global illumination and ambient occlusion.

DLSS and FSR have also been added to GTA V, with Frame Generation coming with a future update. DirectStorage support has also been added, decreasing the game’s loading times on PC.

Alongside the game’s visual and technological upgrades, GTA V’s new PC version now has access to GTA+ content. Additonally, the game now has access to content like “Hao’s Special Works (HSW),” “Ambient Animals,” “Wildlife Photography Challenge,” and more.

The upgrade for Grand Theft Auto V on PC is now available to play from the Rockstar Games Launcher, and also via Steam or Epic Games.

Introducing features previously only available on the latest generation of consoles, this upgrade also optimizes the game experience and performance on modern PCs. Players who already own GTAV on PC can upgrade to this new version for free, with the ability to migrate your Story Mode and Online progress, while anyone jumping into GTAV and GTA Online on PC for the first time will get this new version (GTAV Enhanced) along with the original version (GTAV Legacy) when purchased.

Starting today, the original PC version of Grand Theft Auto V will be called “Grand Theft Auto V Legacy.” This version will continue operating, though it will lack features like GTA+ and not support multiplayer with Grand Theft Auto V Enhanced. GTA V Enhanced and GTA V Legacy will run as separate games with separate online communities.

PC gamers can migrate their GTA Online profiles to the new version of GTA V through a one-time transfer. This will not delete your GTA V Legacy progress, though future progress in GTA V Legacy will not be transferable to the game’s enhanced edition.
