Halo 4’s Insider Flights are due to hit PC in mid-October

343 Industries has confirmed that Halo 4’s first Insider PC flights are due to take place in mid-October, bringing the game one step closer to a full-on PC release.

With the launch of Halo 4, the PC launch of Halo: The Master Chief Collection will be complete, making all Halo games, except for Halo 5, available on Windows-based PCs.

At this time, Microsoft has not committed to releasing Halo 5 on PC. While rumours of a PC port of the game have been spreading across the internet for years, there is no evidence that Microsoft plans to release a Windows version of Halo 5 Guardians at this time.

Halo 5: Forge has been available on PC since 2016, confirming that Halo 5’s engine already works on the PC platform. This fact alone makes a PC release of Halo 5: Guardians appear very achievable, making it possible that PC gamers will be gaining access to the entire Halo franchise.

Halo 3: ODST’s PC flights started in late August, with the full game releasing on September 22nd. This makes an early-to-mid November release for Halo 4 on PC seem likely. Like other games in Halo: The Master Chief Collection, Halo 4 will release on Steam, the Microsoft Store and through Xbox Game Pass for PC.
