Halo Wars Definitive Edition has now been released on PC
Halo Wars Definitive Edition has now been released on PC in early access, finally giving PC gamers this former Xbox exclusive RTS on the true home of the genre.
Halo Wars Definitive Edition comes with enhanced PC visuals, PC oriented controls and all of the original game's DLC. Right now this game is exclusive to pre-orderers of Halo Wars 2: Ultimate Edition, with the game officially releasing on February 17th, 2017. This will give PC players plenty of time to play the original before the sequel officially launches.
This game will be part of the Xbox Play Anywhere program, which means that the Xbox One version of the game will come with a Windows 10 copy, with players being able to download the came and use cross-saves when playing the game from a single Microsoft account on PC and Xbox.
Halo Wars 2 will be a Windows 10 Store exclusive on PC, making it a Windows 10 only release and a UWP application. Below is a new trailer for Halo Wars: Definitive Edition.
Right now we do not know if this game will be released as a standalone product, or if it will come free with all copies of Halo Wars 2. Hopefully, Microsoft will clarify this situation soon, as a lot of PC gamers won't want to pay £64.99 to play this former Xbox 360 exclusive RTS on PC, even if it comes with Halo Wars 2 when it releases in February 2017.
