Here’s how Horizon: Zero Dawn will run on PC – System Requirements and Framerates Detailed
Thankfully, Guerilla Games has released a clear collection of PC system requirements for Horizon Zero Dawn, which includes both settings and framerate targets for both their Minimum and Recommended system specs. Â
Will Horizon Zero Dawn look better on PC?Â
Guerilla Games has confirmed that the PC version of Horizon: Zero Dawn will use the same visual assets as the game’s PlayStation 4 versions and will not include new PC features, like ray tracing. However, the PC version of Horizon: Zero Dawn will support higher resolutions than the game’s PlayStation 4 release and higher graphical settings for effects.Â
While Horizon: Zero Dawn’s core assets will remain the same as before, features like reflections, shadow quality, draw distances and texture filtering settings can all be improved on PC. These changes will allow the PC version of Horizon Zero Dawn to look better than its PS4 predecessor. The PC version of the game will also be able to run at framerates up to 120 FPS, which is 4x higher than the PS4 version’s 30FPS. Â
PC gamers will also be able to play Horizon Zero Dawn with ultra-wide displays, supporting 32:9 and 21:9 aspect ratios. Horizon Zero Dawn’s cutscenes will be locked to a 16:9 aspect ratio, but gameplay can be enjoyed on wider displays. Horizon: Zero Dawn also features an FOV slider, which can be set to a maximum of 100 degrees.Â
On PC, Horizon Zero Dawn’s “Original” settings presumably match the game’s PlayStation 4 version visually. Higher presets such as “Favour Quality” and “Ultimate Quality” are available on PC, as well as a lower preset called “Favour Performance”.Â
