Here’s what you need to run F1 2020 on PC

F1 2020 is due to release on July 10th, and with it will come new features, tracks game modes and other additions. For starters, the game will receive two new circuits with Hanoi Circuit and Circuit Zandvoort, giving gamers a chance to have a good look at these circuits. Given COVID-19’s impact on international sports, this may be the only chance for F1 fans to see these circuits in actions anytime soon.

The next major addition is F1 2020’s “My Team” mode, which allows players to act as drivers and manage their own F1 team. The game’s career mode has also been altered to enable 10-race, 16-race and full 22-race seasons. Returning to the game will be Formula 2 content and a two-player split-screen mode.

At this time, F1 2020 has no official pricing on Steam, though the game’s system requirements remain identical to last year’s game. This makes sense, given this game’s focus on new tracks and the addition of management content, as well as the fact that little graphical fidelity can be achieved from today’s consoles.

Like F1 2019, F1 2020 will utilise both the DirectX 11 and DirectX 12 APIs, with 6-core processors being recommended by Codemasters. GPU-wise, Nvidia’s GTX 1660 Ti and AMD’s RX 590 graphics cards are recommended, though lower-end GPUs will be able to run the game.

DirectX 11 mode is likely included with F1 2020 to continue supporting OS’ like Windows 7 and Windows 8/8.1. That said, It would be nice to see Codemasters focus on a singular API with its future games. Storage-wise, the game requires 80GB of free HDD/SSD space and memory-wise the game requires at least 8GB of system memory.

F1 2020 will run on CPUs as low-end as Intel’s i3-2130 processor or AMD’s FX-4300, though stronger processors are recommended. Likewise, the game will run on graphics cards as low-end as Nvidia’s GTX 640 and AMD’s HD7750.
