Hotfix acquired – Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart receives a visual boost with its first PC update
Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart’s first PC hotfix gives the game a visual boost
Insomniac Games and Nixxes Software have today released their first PC update for Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart, addressing visual issues that have impacted the day-1 version of the game. This includes visual issues in certain GPUs, texture filtering options that were not working as intended, and image quality issues when ray tracing is enabled within the game.Â
Thanks to today’s update, Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart now looks better on PC, especially when ray tracing is enabled. Most notably, the image quality of vegetation has been improved for ray traced reflections and shadows, resulting in more accurate reflections and ray traced shadows on PC. Additionally, textures will no look better on PC thanks to fully functional texture filtering options.Â
  Version v1.727.0.0 Release Notes (Hotfix)
– Resolved visual issues with characters occurring on certain GPUs, including AMD Vega based models.
– Improved the visual quality of vegetation in ray-traced shadows and ray-traced reflections.
– Implemented a fix to make the Texture Filtering option work as intended.
This is unlikely to be the only hotfix that Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart will require on PC, as the game has other known issues that impact PC games. One of the most notable of these issues is a lack of ray tracing support on AMD graphics cards, something that is expected to be fixed with a future game update. Â
