How powerful does your PC need to be to run Gears Tactics?

Microsoft’s Gears Tactics is due to release on PC on April 24th, arriving on Windows 10, Steam and Xbox Game Pass for PC. Gears Tactics is a turn-based strategy game that’s based 12 years before the events of Gears of War, offering players a 40 hour campaign and no microtransactions. 

Today, Xbox Games Studios has revealed Gears Tactic’s PC system requirements, allowing PC gamers to know if their systems are ready for Microsoft’s latest Gears title. Gears Tactics is a PC exclusive Gears game, which requires a DirectX 12 compliant graphics card and at least 8GB of system memory.

On the CPU-side, Microsoft recommends that players use a minimum of an Intel Skylake i3 processor or an AMD FX-6000 series processor. For higher fidelity gameplay, PC gamers should have an Intel i5 Coffee Lake processor or an AMD Ryzen 3 CPU.  

Graphics-wise, Gears Tactics will support graphics cards as low-end as AMD’s R7 260X GPU or Nvidia’s Geforce GTX 750 Ti graphics card. For higher graphics settings, Microsoft recommends a Radeon RX 570 or an Nvidia Geforce GTX 970. 

Moving onto storage, Gears Tactics will require 45GB of free storage space, which isn’t that much for a modern Gears game. Gears 5 required 80GB of storage, not including the game’s high-resolution texture pack.
