id Software adds official mod support to DOOM Eternal
DOOM Eternal players now have access to over 650 community-made mods on PC
Last year, id Software launched their DOOM Eternal mods program with an open beta branch for the game on Steam, the Windows Store and Xbox PC App. Today, over 650 community-made mods are available for the game. Now, DOOM Eternal mod support has exited beta, giving gamers easy access to a library of modded content.
With DOOM Eternal’s newest update, gamers have the option to “Play DOOM Eternal” or “Play DOOM Eternal with mods.” This allows PC gamers to enjoy DOOM Eternal in its standard state. Saves in the standard game will be protected to prevent mods from impacting them. Furthermore, gamers will be able to find, download, and manage their mods using the game’s Mods tab.
Official mod support is now available in DOOM Eternal on Steam. This update will become available on other PC platforms over the next few weeks.
PC gamers can now mod DOOM Eternal using DOOM Eternal: idStudio. This package will allow DOOM Eternal players to mod the entire game using the same tools that id Software used to create the game.
