IO Interactive Delays 007 First Light
IO Interactive’s upcoming James Bond game has been delayed by two months
007 First Light, the next game from Hitman developer IO Interactive, has been postponed for two months. IO Interactive has stated that this delay will ensure that the game “meets the level of quality you players deserve on day one”.
IO Interactive has confirmed that First Light is already playable from start to finish. This means the game’s additional development time will focus on polish and refinement. Hopefully, this will ensure that the game is bug-free at launch and runs well on all supported hardware platforms. 007 First Light’s new release date is May 27th 2026.
At launch, 007 First Light will be available on PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and Switch 2. The game is not coming to last-generation consoles. Note that on PC, First Light will be available on Steam and the Epic Games Store.

First Light promises to be a globe-trotting experience with spycraft, gadgets, car chases and action. The game will be very different from IO Interactive’s Hitman games, though it will be highly replayable. Gamers will be able to complete missions using different approaches and tactics.
