IO Interactive reveals Project 007, a new James Bond game

IO Interactive as a new game in the works, Project 007, a new title which will be developed and published by the studio. Project 007 will be a new James Bond game which will feature a “wholly original” story. 

Project 007 will follow how James bond receives his 00 status, acting as an origin story for the world’s most famous spy. In time, IO Interactive could turn this game into a series of Bond titles, assuming that Project 007 is a success.

Right now, IO Interactive has nothing to show us aside from the teaser trailer below. The studio has announced that they are currently recruiting new talent, confirming that Project 007 is still in the early stages of its development. 

In January 2021, IO Interactive plans to release Hitman 3 on PC, Xbox One, PlayStation 4, Stadia, Switch and next-generation console platforms. Hitman 3 will be the final title within the Hitman “World of Assassination” trilogy. 

Project 007 will be powered by IO Interactive’s Glacier Engine, which ha been used to create the latest Hitman titles. Project 007 will release on “modern systems and platforms”, according to IO Interactive’s CEO Hakan Abrak. At this time, it is unknown whether or not Project 007 will be exclusive to next-generation systems.
