Is your PC ready for Resident Evil 3?
Like its predecessor, Resident Evil 3 will utilise Capacom’s RE Engine, which was used to great effect in 2019 in both Devil May Cry 5 and Resident Evil 2. Given the game’s similar graphical fidelity to Resident Evil 2, it makes sense for it to feature the same minimum PC system requirements. With the game targetting the same console platforms as before, it makes sense for the game’s PC system requirements to remain unaltered, at least in the low-end.Â
At the time of writing, Capcom is unwilling to commit to recommended system requirements for Resident Evil 3, making it possible that the PC version will include more demanding graphical effects or require beefier hardware for 1080p 60 FPS gameplay. For Resident Evil 2, the game’s minimum system requirements were designed around a 1080p 30FPS target framerate, with the game’s recommended system requirements targetting 60FPS. Â
Like Resident Evil 2, Resident Evil 3 is likely to support DirectX 12. Hopefully Resident Evil 3 will actually benefit from DirectX 12, as its use resulted in performance downgrades on all system we tested in Resident Evil 2.Â
Resident Evil 3 will ship with Resident Evil Resistance, a four vs one multiplayer game. This game mode was formerly known as Project REsistance.Â
